Tracy Lupanow

My desire as an artist is for my paintings to connect with you on an intimate level, bringing forth emotions evoked from old memories, strong feelings and lived experiences. An abstract painting is an experience of discovery as each viewer finds a little piece of themselves within it. 
Over the years my work has shifted from representational watercolors to bold and expressive abstract mixed-media paintings. From a distance, they catch your attention with bold color. Up close, they tell an intimate story through texture and detail. As I draw and paint layer upon layer, my paintings begin to develop a history that naturally unfolds as I react intuitively and enjoy the process of what is emerging. I combine the elements of line, color, shape, and composition to capture emotional energy rather than an image.
